The Battle of Waterloo

The Netherland Infantry Regiments

The Infantry of the Netherlands Army consisted of the dutch, Belgian and Nassau troops. The Dutch Regiments wore the bell-topped pattern shako; the plume was white for the Fusilier companies, and white with a coloured tip for the Flanquers; red for the Grenadier companies and green for the Light companies. The Flanquers wore shoulder-rolls that were dark blue piped white. The Facing colours for all Dutch Line Infantry Regiments was white.
The Dutch Regiments present in the Waterloo campaign were those numbered 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 13th: The three regiments engaged, the 3rd, 12th and 13th, sustained a total of one officer and 163 other ranks casualties, of which only nine were killed and fifty-six wounded, the rest being reported as 'missing', a convenient way of describing desertion.
the Belgian Regiments wore the distinctive Belgic shako in the British style. This had plume and cords in the company colours; white for Fusiliers, red for the Grenadier companies.

The Belgian Regiments wore the distinctive Belgic shako in
Grenadiers and green for the Light Flanquer companies. Shoulder-rolls worn by the Flanquers were similar to those in the Dutch Infantry.

The 1st, 2nd, 4th and 7th Belgian Regiments were present in the waterloo Campaign, of which the 2nd and 7th were engaged, losong four officers and eigthy-seven other ranks, and seven officers and two hundred-thirty-four other ranks.

I have painted a Dutch Regiment and a Belgian Regiment both are by Front rank and are based on 50mm x 50mm 3mm wooden bases, the flags are by GMB Designs.
